Things you need to know

The Kind Foundation’s philosophy places great importance on family time. Please be considerate to other users of the campground, particularly those with young children. We ask that partying is kept to a minimum at night and that campers respect our 9pm noise curfew.

Due to child protection policies, we are unable have casual campers on-site during the week in school term time. Campers are welcome from Friday evening through to Sunday evening at this time and we always welcome enquiries just in case we don’t have a school group on-site.

Arrival: On arrival, please report to our office. This is located up the drive on your left prior to the tent site. You can park by the high ropes course, then come up to see us. Please bring your mask and wear it when interacting with our staff, there will be a QR code to scan in on the door of the office. To ensure we have a staff member ready for your arrival you must text or call this number 021 0902 3892 when driving through Little River/30min away. Please note we have 4 arrival time slots – 2pm, 4pm, 6pm or 8pm – staff will only be available at these times to check you in.

Departure: Pack up and check out by noon on the day of departure.

Payments: Needs to be made prior to arrival date, unless arranged prior to camp, payments can be made through online banking. Remember that time booked for is the time to be paid for.

Parking: There is limited parking at the tent site. Parking is available a short distance away in the public parking area of the camp. This makes for a much more pleasant camping area when cars are only used to drop off gear and are otherwise left elsewhere. We appreciate your co operation.

Rubbish: We recycle most waste and expect guests to separate food, aluminum cans, tin cans, plastic bottles, glass bottles and place into the designated containers.

Kitchen Equipment: The campground provides stoves, coolers, freezers, microwaves and toasters. Guests are expected to bring all other kitchen utensils, appliances, crockery and cutlery.

Washing Machines/Dryers: Available at the office on a pay-as-you-use basis. Please see camp staff and come armed with $2 coins.

Grocery Supplies: Are available from Duvauchelle Store (15mins drive) or Akaroa (25mins drive).

Phone Reception: Cell phone coverage is limited. Vodafone is by far the best, Spark can be sporadic and 2degrees is not available at the camp site at all.

Dogs: Are permitted only in the tent site area and only if they are well controlled by owners. They must not harass any other people or animals. Owners must dispose of all fouling appropriately. Cats are not permitted.

Alcohol/Drugs/Smoking/Vaping: The Kind Foundation wishes to encourage healthy habits. Alcohol consumption must not impact on other users of the camp. Wainui campground will ask persons using illegal drugs to leave without refund. Please note that Wainui Park is now 100% smokefree/vape free.
