We are looking for a dynamic person to take on the role of Theatre & Venues Manager at the Papa Hou. This exciting new position will be focused on promoting and growing custom for our portfolio of wonderful venues in the city. One of the key spaces is Papa Hou, a purpose-built black box theatre that will open later in the year.
To be successful in this role, you must have a passion for working within the arts and performance sector. Our ideal candidate will also have some experience in venue management, marketing similar spaces, and coordinating staff, food and beverage and technical support.
This is a hands-on role and you will be expected to assist in the smooth operation, which will often fall outside of standard business hours.

We are looking for someone to manage the bookings and programming for Wainui Park Camp and Arthur’s Pass Outdoor Education Centre, in a fixed term position (maternity leave cover) until May 2024. The Programme Coordinator leads communication between both of the Y’s Outdoor Camps and our clients.
> To manage the day-to-day bookings for Wainui Park and Arthur’s Pass Outdoor Education Centre.
> To quickly and enthusiastically respond to enquiries from clients.
> Create the weekly activity programme.
> Lead site visits for schools, community and corporate groups.
> Order food for catered groups.

We are looking for a dynamic person to take on the role of Food & Beverage Manager at the City Y – situated in the heart of the city, with a hotel, café, bistro, 250-seat theatre and multiple venues for hire.
In October we will be opening a new building and this new role will be critical to the success of the overall operation. The Food and Beverage Manager will lead our café, bar/bistro and onsite catering. To be successful in this role you will have excellent customer service, great leadership skills, a passion for food and hospitality and at least 2-3 years of managing a similar operation.
• Manage all F&B operations within budgeted guidelines and to the highest standards
• Provide excellent internal and external customer service
• Ensure our menus meet customer expectations
• Prepare weekly and monthly forecasts and reports
• Attract, recruit, train and monitor staff
• Comply with all health and safety regulations
We are now recruiting our next seasonal crew of outdoor instructors, preferably aged over 21 years of age and ideally committed to our nine month season which runs through to late May.

We are always looking for passionate, outgoing and reliable individuals to supervise our busy school holiday programmes!
We need supervisors that are at least 20 years of age, have a current First Aid Certificate, and have a good understanding and experience of working with young people.
We currently run active, creative, performing and general programmes, which you will help create, plan and develop.
This is full time work while school holidays are running, with up to 6 hours of additional paid training prior to the programme starting.
Working on a holiday programme is a fantastic way to develop leadership skills and gain experience working with people. Holiday programmes are a huge amount of fun and a very valuable way to give back to the community and gain invaluable skills. Each school holiday period the Y runs up to 8 different programmes all over Christchurch City!
As a volunteer leader you will work as part of a team, alongside and experienced supervisor, to run the programme. You can expect to get involved wi the kids, manage your group and the behaviours, role model a positive attitude and have a great experience!
Some of the activities you may be involved in are: movies, tenpin bowling, mini-golf, swimming, Antarctic Centre, sports, art & crafts, outdoor adventure days, indoor climbing and the list goes on! You will be required between the hours of 8:30am to 5pm, and must be 15yrs or over.
